After ten years in the NFL Martellus Bennett hung up the cleats. After playing on 5 teams the 1 time pro bowler and superbowl champs career comes to an end.
Thank You Marty
Marty showed his talents all over the league and made alot of fans along the way. Its hard to identify Marty with just one team, his best years were in Chicago, and he won a superbowl with the New England, but I dont see him retiring as a Patroit or a Bear. I see him retiring as Marty, not only is he a great football player but he showed his true personality and gained alot of fans doing it. Thank you Marty.
Even though it seems like just a pipe dream he never used the word "retire" in his offical statement on twitter.
From his statment it seems hes most likely done with the NFL and focusing on his work with The Imagination Agency.
What Could Have Been...
It would have been nice to see Marty sign a one year deal with the Eagles and try to win a superbowl with his brother. Theres no saying the Eagles will be there next year but they have a good roster and are missing depth at the TE postion. After realesing Brett Celek and Trey Burton leaving, a veteran TE like Marty would have been a great fit.
Enjoy Retirement Champ
Check out what Marty's up to at the Imagination Agency.
